Namuwongo Blazers secured their fifth straight victory in the ongoing 2024 National Basketball League.

Namuwongo Blazers registered a 91-83 victory against KCCA Panthers in a thrilling game of basketball played at YMCA Court in Wandegeya.

Daniel Gaaki sealed the opening quarter with a shot from downtown as Namuwongo Blazers led the first period (25-9) with 16 points.

The Blazers extended their lead to 21 points (51-30) however KCCA Panthers greatly improved their craft dropping 21 points in the second quarter.

After the halftime break, the Panthers’ continued with the fight reducing the deficit to (67-53) 14 points.

The Panthers launched a late surge but Namuwongo Blazers hang in to secure an eight-point victory.

Joseph Chuma led the scoring chart with 22 points and 15 points alongside Blair Wadaya (17) and Innocent Ochera (16).

Davis Assimwe dropped a game-high 25 points to lead KCCA while Gaius Mahamba scored 19 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

KCCA Panthers have so far lost six games and won nine games in the ongoing campaign.
