Uganda Premier League side KCCA Football Club has tied down young custodian Humphrey Oyirwoth in a five-year contract.

The development was confirmed via the club's official website on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

"Humphrey Oyirwoth has committed his future to KCCA FC until the end of the 2028-29 season," the statement partly reads.

"The young goalkeeper signed his senior contract with KCCA FC and will be part of the 2024-25 squad," it added.

According to the club, Oyirwoth has previously trained with KCCA's reserve side, and his development has greatly impressed the technical team at the club.

"I am delighted to commit my future to KCCA FC. From the first day, I started training with the club. I made a vow to myself that I signed for this club, and I am glad it has started," the website quoted the youngster.

"The hard work starts now, and I have got to work my way to the top. I have been surrounded by wonderful goalkeepers and coaches at the club who have helped me develop into a better player."

"I will continue learning from them. I know I have got to work extra hard to earn my place, and I will do exactly that going forward," the custodian concluded.

Oyirwoth is gifted with fine reflexes but also comfortable with playing from the back, among other attributes that make up a modern custodian.
