UCU Lady Cardinals and Crested Cranes defender Shadia Nankya has joined Egyptian side TUT FC in the ongoing transfer window.

The transfer deal ends Nankya's five-year stay at UCU Lady Cardinals after joining the club in 2019 from Uganda Martyrs High School, Lubaga.

Nankya's football journey was on a swift rise before suffering a horrible injury in the 2022-23 campaign, thus halting her progress.

The lanky defender expressed his mixed feelings on the development before she revealed that it was the right decision at the right time.

"I am so sad that I will be leaving a place and family I have known for the past five years. It's hard to tame in, but I think it's the right time," she noted.

"I am happy to know that my career has taken a positive stride, and I hope it's only the start of a fruitful journey after several days of hard work."

Nankya is set to embark on a new journey after joining Egyptian Women's Premier League 2023-24 champions TUT FC, also known as Tutankhamun.

UCU Lady Cardinals were relegated last season and will take part in the FUFA Women Elite League, the second women's football tier.
