Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC failed to seal a spot in the semifinals of the ongoing CAF Champions League zonal qualifiers after falling to Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) on Monday.

CBE registered a 2-1 victory against Kawempe Muslim in the ongoing zonal qualifiers at Abebe Bikila Stadium on Monday evening.

It was a close game from the first minute of the game and both sides went through thick and thin finding the back of the net.

Mesay Temsegen broke the deadlock in the 44th minute with a powerful effort from distance to guide the ball past the custodian.

From the dressing rooms, Kawempe returned more energised and a bit direct forcing several attacks onto CBE’s goal.

Shadia Nabirye levelled matters for Kawempe Muslim who capitalised on the custodian’s mistake before finding the back of the net.

With four minutes left on the clock, Emedet Asfaw broke Kawempe’s heart with an easy finish leaving goalkeeper Josephine Nambuya helpless.

From now on, CBE will lock horns with Kenya’s Police FC while Kawempe will take on Simba in the classification game.
