Lugazi and Mbale Heroes shared spoils in a one-all draw in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe on Wednesday.

The recently two promoted teams met in a closely contested game that was played in front of quite a fair crowd.

It was Asaph Mwebaze's first game as Mbale Heroes' gaffer after taking over from Richard Malinga who decided to step away from the office.

Gideon Etau placed the visitors in the lead in the ninth minute after Lugazi failed to clear their lines.

However, Lugazi levelled matters through Derrick Mwanje with a greater header in the 35th minute after Mbale Heroes backline were caught napping.

Lugazi's search for the maiden point in the league will extend into matchday six.

The point keeps Mbale Heroes in the 12th position with four points while Lugazi sit bottom of the log with two points.
