Uganda Premier League | Result

  • Mbarara City 1-1 Kitara
  • SC Villa 2-2 Bright Stars
  • NEC 2-1 Maroons

Mbarara City held Kitara in a one-all draw in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Kakyeka Stadium on Friday.

Ronald Edwok fired the home side ahead before Patrick Kaddu restored parity in the closely contested game.

In the 12th minute, Joseph Kafumbe forced Kitara's goalkeeper Chrispus Kusima into a big save before Dudu Ramathan cleared the ball away from danger.

Two minutes later, Joseph Akandwanaho came close to breaking the deadlock, but his volleyed effort went narrowly wide of the target.

Kusiima made a full stretch to clear the ball before forward Seri Ariguma got a foot on the through pass as the hosts kept knocking on the door.

Arigumaho failed to place the ball on target after beating the custodian. Dudu made a sloppy back pass, but the forward's effort missed the target by a whisker.

Edwok fired the home side in the lead after 84 minutes. Kusiima made a big save to deny Akandwanaho but later fumbled with the ball, and Kitara was punished.

Late in the game, Kaddu rose highest to node home Denis Omedi's corner kick, thus salvaging a point for the visitors.

A point leaves Mbarara City in the 10th position with six points while Kitara lies 13th with four points after playing five games.
