Bright Stars secured a 1-0 victory against Kitara in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Kavumba Recreation Ground on Friday evening.

Nelson Ssenkatuka's strike was the difference and the Bright Stars finally got the season's maiden win.

Ssenkatuka started off the attack by setting up Ashraf Mulindi on the left flank. The forward released Paskali Oketcho to set up the eventual goal scorer.

The hosts held on to suck in Kitara's pressure to register a big victory on the day.

The victory lifts Bright Stars out of the red zone to the 13th position with six points in eight games.

On the other hand, Kitara falls to the 15th place with four points in eight games. The side has lost five out of the six previous games.
