Total FC registered a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Express in a Uganda Cup encounter on Wednesday evening.
In a match played at Swinga Stadium in Yumbe District, the regional side stunned the struggling Red Eagles with a narrow win.
The hosts took the lead in the 11th minute and held on until the final whistle.
Express endured a grueling 533km journey from Kampala to Yumbe, which took a toll on the players.
The record champions also missed key players, including Richard Basangwa, Alex Wasswa, Sam Ssenyonjo, and Derrick Ngoobi.
Steven Senfuma’s goal secured Total FC’s victory, continuing their impressive run after upsetting Arua Hill 2-0 in the round of 64.
With this win, the Yumbe-based side has booked a spot in the round of 16 as the prestigious competition progresses.
