Kenneth Kimera was the hero as Vipers secured a 1-0 victory over Wakiso Giants in a Uganda Premier League clash at St. Mary’s Stadium on Friday.

The first half was largely uneventful, with both teams struggling to create clear-cut chances. Wakiso Giants' physical approach disrupted Vipers’ rhythm, denying them space in midfield.

The breakthrough came in the 55th minute when Kimera capitalized on a brilliant delivery from Frank Katongole, beating Wakiso Giants’ high defensive line to find the back of the net.

The visitors pushed for an equalizer through Hudson Mbalire, Rahmat Senfuka, and Hassan Ssenyonjo, but none managed to convert their chances.

Vipers goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza was outstanding, making several crucial saves to preserve his team’s lead.

The win extends Vipers’ lead at the top of the table to five points, with 49 points, while Wakiso Giants remain in 14th place with 14 points.
