AFCON U-17 | Result

The Uganda U-17 national team, the Cubs, suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat to Morocco in their AFCON U-17 match at El Bachir Stadium, Mohammedia.

Ilies Belmokhtar (brace), Ziyad Baha Abedlahaj (brace), and Driss Ait Chiekh were on the scoresheet as Morocco claimed a dominant victory.

Belmokhtar opened the scoring in the third minute, heading past Uganda goalkeeper Ashraf Lukyamuzi.

Chiekh doubled Morocco’s lead in the 8th minute with another header as Uganda's defense struggled to contain the relentless Moroccan attacks.

Abedlahaj made it 3-0 in the 23rd minute, converting from the penalty spot after a foul in the box.

Just before halftime, Belmokhtar added a fourth with a powerful strike, leaving the crowd ecstatic.

In the 71st minute, Abedlahaj sealed the victory, pouncing on a mistake by Lukyamuzi to make it 5-0.

Uganda will now look to bounce back in their next two group matches against Zambia and Tanzania as the tournament continues.
