Team Uganda heads to Rwanda to compete at the fifth edition of the Africa Region IV Golf Championship at Kigali Golf Resort & Villas high in confidence.

The tournament is scheduled for 2nd to 6th October 2024.

Besides the hosts Rwanda and Uganda, the other countries expected to take part include Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Reunion, Seychelles, South Sudan and Tanzania.

On Monday, 30^th September 2024, the Uganda Golf Union officially flagged off its team of four golfers.

Captain Joseph Cwinya-ai (Tooro Club), Joseph Kasozi (Uganda Golf Club), Joseph Reagan Akena (Lugazi Hills and Country Club) and Ibrahim Ssemakula (Lugazi Hills and Country Club) are the players on the team.

“We have trained well and have the confidence that we shall do well in Rwanda. The team has experienced and talented players ready for the job with winning in the DNA,” said Cwinya-ai.

The team will be coached by pro golfer Flavia Namakula who is optimistic about good performances at the tournament.

“The players have been physically and mentally trained ready for the job at hand. Of late, we have been polishing the end game at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa course, the same course as the one in Kigali,” Namakula noted.
