Lango Province sealed off a spot in the semifinals of the ongoing 2023 FUFA Drum.

In a game that was played at Akii Bua Stadium, Lango played to a one-all draw against Acholi in the quarterfinal round of the tournament.

Coming into this game, Acholi had lost 2-0 to Lango and this was the only chance to overturn the result at home. In the next round, Lango will take on West Nile to decide who makes the finals.

Lango's first chance arrived in the 10th minute but Moses Aliro's diving header went narrowly wide of the right goal post.

Lango's custodian Tonny Kyamera was quick to respond to Hillary Onek's dangerous delivery into the area.

Innocent Maduka nearly gave the hosts the lead in the 17th minute after being set up by Aliro but Derrick Ochan made a reflex save to keep the score levelled.

Ochan once again kept Acholi in the game with a thrilling save denying Maduka from close range five minutes into the second stanza.

Six minutes later, Aliro finally gave the hosts the lead with a low half-shot after being set up by Maduka's flick.

On the other hand, Acholi attempted a quick response through Dominic Ayella but Kayemera firmly collected the ball.

Francis Onekalit rose highest amidst a forest of bodies but his powerful header went inches above the frame in the 65th minute.

Aliro was only left with a goalkeeper to beat but Ochan's slight touch kept the ball far from the target on 70 minutes. 

In the 82nd minute, Acholi was awarded a penalty after the referee judged the ball to have gone off Paul Acire in the dangerous area. Ronald Owinyi stepped up and converted from the spot with a powerful effort.

After the one-all stalemate, Acholi's journey in the tournament comes to an end.
