KCCA Football Club came from a goal down to beat struggling Police Football Club 3-1 at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Friday.

Juma Balinya's early penalty was cancelled out by goals from Davis Kasirye, Charles Lwanga, and Rogers Mato as the Kasasiro moved to 26 points, six clear of second-placed BUL FC.

Tonny Mawejje was fouled in the restricted area by Samson Kigozi and Balinya converted from the spot in the fifth minute.

Forward Kasirye who is in fine form drew the hosts level with a headed effort in the 17th minute off Kigozi's well-delivered cross.

Lwanga then put the hosts in the lead eight minutes later with a close-range finish after Tom Ikara spilled Brian Majwega's shot in his path.

KCCA sat back early in the second half and played on the counter as Police possessed the ball more.

The introduction of Herman Wasswa, Emmanuel Mugume, and Muwadda Mawejje breathed some new energy into the Cops but it was KCCA celebrating again after Mato beat the offside trap on the counter to slot home.

Next Up

KCCA will be away to SC Villa next Saturday at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru while Police FC will host Busoga United on the same day at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
