Crested Cranes head coach George William Lutalo has further trimmed his squad ahead of 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

Striker Juliet Nalukenge is the most popular on the list of the seven players dropped. UCU Lady Cardinals defender Shadia Nankya who is still struggling with a knee injury is the other cut off.

Natasha Shiraz, Biira Nadunga, Grace Aluka, and Samalie Nakachwa as well as goalie Hadijah Nalongo have also been dropped.

These join the earlier list that had Viola Namuddu, Harima Kanyago, Miriam Ibunyu, Naome Nagadya, Resty Nanziri, and Juliet Adeke who were all dropped after the CECAFA tournament.

Team captain Ruth Aturo who jetted into the country on Saturday evening replaces Nalongo. Aturo completes the list of three goalkeepers that will make the AWCON squad, the others being Daisy Nakaziro and Vanessa Karungi.

The head coach will on Tuesday (tomorrow) morning hold a press conference to announce the final squad.

The Crested cranes are pitted in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Senegal and Burkina Faso as they will see their first game in AWCON.
