She Corporate Football Club is one win away from making the CAF Women's Champions League.
The side beat the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) 2-1 victory in the semifinals of the Cecafa Qualifiers for the premier club competition on the continent.
Anita Namata and Phiona Nabbumba were on target for the Ugandan champions while Loza Abera scored for CBE in the tight encounter played at Azam Complex on Wednesday.
Namata was in the right place to loop in the opener over defenders on the goalline after Nabbumba who was played through by Joanita Ainembabazi hit the upright. She Corporate led 1-0 at the break.
At the start of the second stanza, Loza Abera’s freekick rattled off the woodwork with Daphine Nyayenga who was off her line beaten. The forward found the equalizer in the 62nd minute with a calm finish.
However, Nabbumba restored the lead for the Uganda side through a glorious freekick after Namata was brought down just outside the area.
The win means She Corporates will play the winner between Simba Queens and AS Kigali for a place in the final tournament.
