KCCA Football Club edged Wakiso Giants 3-2 in a thrilling StarTimes Uganda Premier League encounter played at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Ashraf Mugume came off the bench to score a brace and Geoffrey Wasswa scored the other as Kasasiro survived the Purple Sharks.

Owen Kasule and Tom Masiko (penalty) were on target for Wakiso Giants.

The opening forty-five minutes of the game were barren but it took just five minutes after the break for Mugume to fire the hosts ahead after being set up by Moses Waiswa.

Geoffrey Wasswa headed in Saidi Mayanja's corner to double KCCA's lead fifteen minutes later but Kasule would half the deficit with Moses Aliro the provider.

With six minutes to play, Mugume scored his second, a rocket from outside the area after being set up by Arafat Usama to restore the two-goal advantage.

Masiko converted from the spot with two minutes to play to create a tense finish after John Revita had fouled Frank Ssebufu in the area.

Next Up

KCCA FC will visit Arua Hill on 8th October while Wakiso Giants will be away to Maroons in Luzira two days later.
