The 2022 Busoga Masaza Cup resumes with match day two on Saturday, 28th May.
Butembe, who won the official opening match against Buzaaya 1-0 will face Budiope at the Budiope Secondary School playground.
Steven Madanda and Franco Mugomba will be the key players for Butembe while in the other game on the same day, Bukono takes on Bulamogi at the Ivukula Subcounty playground.
On Sunday 29th May 2022, Bukooli Namayingo shall host Bunha at the Namayingo Primary School playground.
Bunha humbled Busiki 4-0 courtesy of lethal forward Issa “Gayanda” Mugoya, Nkolo Blaise and Daniel Balyeku.
The other contest will have Luuka against Bunhole Bunanhumba at the Luuka District Headquarters playground.
Match day one witnessed a total of seven matches in four matches with Butembe, Kigulu, Bugabula and Bunha being victorious.
Telecommunications giants MTN Uganda are the major tournament sponsors.
The MTN Uganda-sponsored Busoga Masaza Cup 2022 kicked off on Saturday, 14th May at St Gonzaga Gonza Senior Secondary School in Kagoma.
The Kyabazinga of Busoga Kingdom, His Majesty the Kyabazinga William Gabula Nadiope IV Isebantu, graced the official opening match of the fifth edition.

Butembe edged Buzaaya 1-0 thanks to Faruku Magumba’s goal with 17 minutes left on the clock of the well-attended match. Magumba’s goal came after a decent assist from Franco Mugomba.
Several high-profile Busoga Kingdom officials graced the official opening match of the annual championship that returns after a two-year pause because of the COVID-19.
MTN Uganda CEO Wim Vanhelleputte emphasized the need to associate and support such a pro-people championship.

Fourteen (14) counties are competing with the winner taking home a trophy and Shs.10m, 1st runners-up Shs.7m, 2nd runners-up Shs.5m, and the 4th-placed team will pocket Shs.3m.
Telecom giants MTN Uganda will bankroll the 2022 Busoga Masaza Cup edition by sinking in Shs 350,000,000.
The tournament starts on 14th May with an opener between Buzaya and Butembe at Kagoma playground.
This will be the 5th edition since inception and will cost over UgX400m according to Owek.Osman Noor Ahmed-2nd Deputy Premier.
Busoga Kingdom Sports Minister Owek. Amin Bbosa revealed on Sunday 1st May, that 14 counties are participating in this year’s tournament.
The winner will take home a trophy with UgX10m,1st runners up UgX7m,2nd runners-up UgX5m and 4th team UgX3m.

We are doing everything humanly possible to even draw more corporate companies to partner with the Kingdom in our pursuit of identifying and developing natural talents”, he said before appealing to the people of Busoga to support the two corporate companies who continue to embrace the cultural institution. He cautioned participating teams to ensure discipline is top notch before and during the tournament because sponsors won’t associate with a dented brand.

The official openning match for the tournament is 14th May 2022 at Kagoma play ground where Buzaya will be up against Butembe.
The Kyabazinga of Busoga His Majesty William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV will grace the official opening match.
The theme of the tournament is talent identification, development and promotion. Kigulu are the defending champions.
