Bermudian international cricketer Delray Rawlins is doubtful of the possibility of playing this year’s Cricket World Cup Challenge League B tournament in Uganda.
Rawlins, who is in the last year of his existing contract with English county cricket club Sussex feels he will be busier that he might not get the nod to leave the United Kingdom for Kampala.
Bermuda, although not mathematically out of the running may have to be without him because he wants to stabilize his career and future with Twenty20 [Vitality Blast] coming up.
“I haven’t spoken with Cal [Waldron – Bermuda interim head coach] or anyone at the Bermuda Cricket Board to determine my availability,” the 24-year old told Royal Gazette.
“But this tournament is at a pretty crucial stage in my season; we’re right in the middle and then there’s also Twenty20 [Vitality Blast] coming up. It might happen, but at the minute, it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.”
Bermuda are at the bottom of the six-nation Challenge League B table after losing all but one of their five 50-overs contests played in Oman in December 2019.
The other countries are leaders Uganda, Italy, Hong Kong, Kenya and Jersey. Only one team will qualify for the next repechage phase at the end of a 15-match process on the road to India in 2023 .
Uganda will host this round from June 14 to 28 and Jersey will host the final round from July 28 to August 10.
Nepal has trimmed it’s squad to 16 players from 22 that were initially named as they prepare to face Uganda in a T20I cricket bilateral series.
The Victoria Pearls will play five games at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground between 16th and 21st May in Kirtipur.
Nepal captain Rubina Chhetri and senior Sita Rana Magar will be returning home from the 2022 Fairbreak tournament in Dubai.
Victoria Pearls travel tonight aboard Fly Dubai at 8:00pm and will arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal at 8:00pm on Sunday.

Australia opener Alyssa Healy has been named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for April 2022 but lavished praise on Victoria Pearl’s Janet Mbabazi.
Healy featured in just one international match during April but the 32-year-old wicketkeeper-batter stood out by dominating the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup final at the start of the month.
Healy scored 170 from just 138 deliveries in the World Cup final to guide Australia to the title.
She beat England batter Nat Sciver and Uganda all-rounder Janet Mbabazi for the monthly ICC award but lauded the latter for her stellar display in the Capricorn Tri Series in Namibia.
Uganda all-rounder Mbabazi ended the series as the leading wicket-taker, while also chipping in with some vital runs.
In six matches, Mbabazi scalped 11 wickets at 7.81 and a miserly economy of 5.60. She registered her best figures of 4/12 in an encounter against Zimbabwe.
Apart from her heroics with the ball, Mbabazi also ended the series as the fifth-highest run-scorer. She notched up 118 runs at an average of 29.50 and a strike-rate of 73.75, with a best of 42* against Zimbabwe.

“I am very humbled to win this month’s award ahead of two outstanding players,” Healy told Women’s CricZone.
“It was great to see Janet Mbabazi’s name in the mix after a stellar tri-series for Uganda. I am looking forward to seeing her name in contention for more ICC Awards over the years to come.
“Thanks to all the fans for voting and supporting the women’s game. It’s been a great start to 2022 for our sport and I am looking forward to seeing what the rest of the year holds.”
Ugandan all rounder Janet Mbabazi has been ranked as the best bowler of the Capricorn Tri Series ahead of Zimbabwe’s Anesu Mushangwe, Uganda’s Consy Aweko and Phiona Kulume.
Janet Mbabazi tops the chart for most wickets – a total of 11 ahead of Anesu with 10 and Aweko picking 10 as well.
The Victoria Pearls’ bowling was exceptional but the batting remains something the technical bench will have to work on.
Kulume was also sensational in her debut series, grabbing 6/11 (Uganda’s best WT20I bowling figures, and the best-ever WT20I figures in a losing cause).

Victoria Pearls captain Consy Aweko has promised a better show from the team after losing 5 games so far at the Capricorn Tri-Series tournament in Namibia.
Aweko has spearheaded the side in utterly the impressive bowling display from any side in the tournament but batting is where a lot of work needs to be done.
This is Aweko’s first tour as captain and she’s hunting for a win the team’s last game against Namibia in the afternoon today.
Speaking to media, Aweko said; “We have a lot to learn about our batting. When we come back to Kampala, the most essential part to work upon is the batting area.
“The bowling was superb, the fielding was superb and thank you all for supporting us and rallying behind us during this tournament.”
Janet Mbabazi was the star of the show after she turned up again to help the Victoria Pearls restrict Zimbabwe on Sunday during their second last encounter in the Capricorn Tri-Series in Namibia.
The Victoria Pearls are yet to get off the mark after going down by 11 runs against the Lady Chevrons but there were positives again.
The Victoria Pearls put on another impressive show with the ball. Evelyn Anyipo and Patricia Malemikia were mean upfront and they made it hard to score runs with Janet Mbabazi (4/12) picking up the rewards of their hard work.
Zimbabwe were bundled out for just 86 with two balls to spare and in the chase, Kevin Awino left early after pocking at a nothing delivery.
The second wicket partnership of Janet Mbabazi and Shakira Shadick had more dots than runs and this raised the required rate.
Mbabazi departed for a single-digit score before other batters came and left, none troubling the Lady Chevrons.
Uganda fell short by 11 runs, Mbabazi picking up the Player of the Match award for her impressive bowling performance.
The Victoria Pearls will need to pull up their socks after suffering two losses to Namibia and Zimbabwe in their first encounters at the Capricorn Women’s Tri-Series.
In the first match, the Pearls were in line of success when they won the toss and opted to field. They restricted Namibia to 90/9.
Arrasta Diergaardt did much of the damage with 36 runs, not to forget spectacular bowling displays from Evelyn Anyipo 3/18, Sarah Akiteng 2/12 and captain Consy Aweko 2/12.
In the run chase, Kevin Awino sought to drag the Victoria Pearls into the game but she couldn’t establish a solid partnership, scoring 23 (43).
Uganda amassed 78/8, Namibia winning by 12 runs to gain as many valuable points in WT20I rankings.
In the second game, Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat. It was more of the Victoria Pearls’ liking and with quality bowling again, all rounder and vice captain Janet Mbabazi 4/16 bagging four wickets.
Chipo Mugeri was dismissed before she could amass a half century (46/46) for the Lady Chevrons, captain Consy Aweko cleaning up the tail with 3/11 for Zimbabwe to put on 100 all out.
In the run chase, Janet (21/32) seemed to be the candidate to drag Uganda over the line but her dismissal meant work for Phiona Kulume and Evelyn Anyipo who set up a 30 run partnership at the tail for 98/3.
Zimbabwe won by 8 runs to further compound misery on Uganda’s rankings in the WT20Is. The two teams will face off again today at 3:30pm (EAT).
