Vipers Sports Club ascended to the top of the Uganda Premier League after easing past Onduparaka 4-0 at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

The Venoms came into the game on the back of a 1-0 loss to Gaddafi and made a perfect response in front of their fans.

Milton Karisa was the star man as he got to the score sheet and was involved in the other three goals scored by Bright Anukani, Karim Watambala, and Ibrahim Orit.

Karisa beat Denis Ojara for pace on the right flank before delivering a low cross for Watambala whose shot was blocked by Alex Adriko’s hand and the referee to point to the spot. Anukani converted for a Vipers.

The winger delivered another telling cross for Watambala and this time, the attacking midfielder fired it into the top corner.

The skipper would later set up Orit who fired home from the outside to give goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga no chance.

Karisa later found his own, chasing on a through ball before putting an icing on the cake with a beautiful finish.

Vipers could have scored more but Muwanga was superb in goal to deny Karisa and Watambala while Joseph Youngman hit the post and Cromwell Rwothomio had a wilder fly away from goal.

Onduparaka barely troubled Vipers. Gaddafi Gadinho sent his freekick into Fabien Mutombora’s hands while Ojara skewed his header off the target.

The work is cut out for new coach Steven Bogere whose side remains rock-bottom with just two points from 11 games.

Maroons last win had been against KCCA at the same ground nearly six weeks ago and were only registering their third win of the season which gives some relief to head coach Muhammad Senfuna.

Meanwhile, Gaddafi who came into the game on the back of a 1-0 win over holders Vipers, continued to struggle away from home despite dominating the opening half. Alex Kitata was guilty of fluffing a scoring opportunity.

With ten minutes to play, Amaku who was silent throughout the game squeezed a clever placement after receiving from Samson Kigozi at the edge of the box to beat Mutakubwa.

Result

Alex Kitaata’s early goal was the difference as hosts Gaddafi ended Vipers’ Uganda Premier League six-game winning streak.

The former SC Villa striker got the goal inside the second minute with a long-range effort from just outside the area after being set up by former Vipers man Brian Kalumba.

Roberto Oliviera’s men who remain third on the table with 20 points came into the game with a chance to go top if they had managed to pick three points.

The Brazilian was forced to withdraw Cromwell Rwothomio in the first half for Nigerian striker Abubaker Lawal who surely did no improvement save for a yellow card later in the game for a foul on Shafik Bakaki.

The win lifts Gaddafi to 7th place on 15 points while Venoms stay third with 20 after ten games.

Gaddafi will visit Maroons who lost to Villa 1-0 earlier in the day on December 7 while Vipers host Onduparaka on the same day.

SC Villa bounced back from back-to-back defeats by defeating visitors Maroons 1-0 in Lira in Sunday’s early kickoff.

Patrick Kakande scored in the first half before Meddie Kibirige saved a second-half penalty after Kenneth Ssemakula handled on the goal line.

Kakande beat three players on the left before placing the ball at the near post in the 10th minute.

Five minutes after the break, Ssemakula handled the ball and he was sent off, the referee awarding a penalty.

Amaku saw his effort and the rebound saved by Kibirige as Villa ended a two-match losing streak to climb to 5th with 17 points.

Maroons, now winless in five games stay 11th with 10 points from as many games.

Villa will stay in Lira for the next three days to face hosts Blacks Power in their next game on December 7.

Allan Okello got the other goal from the spot as the Kasasiro beat the Caterpillars 2-0 at Bombo Barracks.

After a scrappy start, KCCA were awarded a penalty after Rashid Okocha tripped Rogers Mato in the area. Okello sent goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga the wrong way for the opener after the half-hour mark.

Shaban was played through by Okello, left Bernard Ndifuna for dead, before slotting past Muwanga.

The result leaves Onduparaka without a win this season after 10 games. It was also their last game hosted at Bombo and will be returning to Arua for their home games.

The win sends KCCA to the top of the table with 22 points. It’s the third straight victory for KCCA as Morley Byekwaso’s side looks to have turned the corner.

NEC came from a goal down to overcome Adjumani Town Council FC in a thrilling encounter played at the Bugolobi Coffee Ground on Thursday.

Adjumani grabbed the lead when Joel Aldo Indi found the back of the net and remained in control at the break.

NEC returned and scored through Derrick Ssekiranda, Richard Ajuna, Marvin Kavuma, and Ivan Kamoga despite Nasur Alhamad getting another for Adjumani.

Indi gave Adjumani the lead in the 15th minute of play, tapping home from close range following a low corner kick.

There was significant improvement after the break for the home side and ten minutes into the second half, Ssekiranda drew the game level.

Barely a minute later, the score read 2-1 with left back Ajuna dashing into the box to finish off Kavuma’s cutback cross.

Kavuma would also score his name on the score sheet to stretch the lead. Even when Alhamad gave Adjumani some hope of recovery with their second goal, the attempt was tamed with Kavuma putting the game to bed.

Victory takes NEC to second place on 16 points, one behind leaders Kyetume FC.

Adjumani Town Council on the other hand finds themselves languishing in the drop zone, third from the bottom with 8 points.

Forward  Allan Okello’s late goal was hugely decisive in helping KCCA FC get over Gaddafi in the Uganda Premier League on Tuesday.

The sensation scored eleven minutes to time to give KCCA a 2-1 win at Lugogo. He turned an Alex Kitaata equalizer into a mere consolation after he had canceled out an early goal from Brian Majwega.

Kitaata equalized at the stroke of halftime before Okello won it to take the KCCA points tally to 19 in nine games as they climb to third.

In Lira, Blacks Power won the second game in a row beating struggling UPDF 1-0 at Akii Bua stadium. Elsewhere, URA and Maroons drew a four-goal thriller at Luzira.

The FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel has sanctioned Arua Hill head coach Livingstone Mbabazi, his assistant Yusuf Ssenyonjo, defender Bright Joseph Vuni and Goalkeeper Richard Anyama for misconduct.

In a league game held on Wednesday 23rd November, Vuni and Anyama violently confronted and attacked the match officials during Arua Hill’s 2-0 loss to Gaddafi at Kakindu.

Referee Siraji Mpyangu allowed Gaddafi to take a quick free-kick far away from where an incident had occurred resulting in a goal and ugly scenes ensued thereafter.

After investigation, the pannel ruled as follows;

Mbabazi and Ssenyonjo have been suspended for one competition match effective immediately as of 30th November. The pair have also been fined 500,000 Ugx each to be paid to the Fufa account without fail.

Vuni and goalkeeper Anyama have been suspended for two competition matches, effective immediately as of 30th November 2022.

Vuni and Anyama will miss the Express game at Wankulukuku on 2nd December as well as the game against Bul FC at home in Arua.

Mbabazi and his assistant will sit out on the Express game.
