BUL FC returned to winning ways on Friday with a victory over nemesis Busoga United FC in the Uganda Premier League.

In the Jinja derby played at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru, BUL won 2-0 to claim the bragging rights.

Isabirye made two changes from the team that had lost to Express FC last week. Aggrey Madoi who was making his first appearance this season started ahead of Richard Ayiko while Walter Ochora, returning from suspension got ahead of George Kasonko.

Ndugwa broke the deadlock in the 65th minute, heading home Ronald Otti’s cross.

Six minutes later, Mugulusi struck home the second for the hosts to put the game beyond Busoga United’s reach.

Victory takes BUL to second place with 17 points, one behind leaders Wakiso Giants while Busoga United remains second from bottom on 3 points.

KCCA’s brilliant first-half show was just enough to upstage rivals SC Villa who they beat 3-0 at the Akii Bua stadium in Lira.

An own goal from Gift Fred was followed by goals from Muhammad Ssenoga ‘Kagawa’ and Moses Waiswa to condemn the Jogoos to their defeat of the season.

Gift diverted Rogers Mato’s delivery into his own net in a bizarre manner in the 3rd minute before Ssenoga doubled the lead in the 32nd minute.

Waiswa completed the route six minutes later with a well-drilled free kick after Allan Okello had been fouled close to the edge.

Jackson Magera’s men improved after the break but could only do enough to limit the damage but failed to break KCCA who kept a clean sheet for only the third time in eight games this season.

The Kasasiro climb to 3rd on the table with 16 points leaving the Jogoos in 6th position with two points less.

KCCA will next face Gaddafi on Tuesday, November 29 at Lugogo while SC Villa visits Vipers SC on the same day.

This is the game that takes us back to the summit and if we are to achieve something, we have to win tomorrow’s game,” Kasonko told the club media.

“Although Busoga is down on the table, this doesn’t mean they’re weak but we are prepared for them.

“They’re my former employers but I am now at BUL, it’s where I get what I eat and a job is a job. I am going to do my job.”

BUL will close the gap on leaders Wakiso Giants with a win while Busoga United will move out of the relegation zone. Both teams lost their last outings, ironically to Express FC.

Arua Hill lost their fourth consecutive game in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after falling two-nil to Gaddafi at Kakindu Stadium in Jinja.

Alex Kitata and Brian Kalumba were on target in the second half for the hosts in a game visitors finished with a man down after defender Paul Musamali was sent off.

Kitata’s opener which arrived at the hour mark was highly contested by Arua Hill after Gaddafi had a quick restart in the build up to the goal.

Musamali was given marching orders for a second bookable offense in the 74th minute after a dangerous tackle on Lwesibawawho assisted Kitata’s goal.

Kalumba benefited from a defensive mix-up between Vuni and goalkeeper Richard Anyama, slotting the second that all but sealed the points for Gaddafi.

It’s the fourth straight loss for the Kongolos who had earlier fallen at URA, Vipers, and SC Villa.
