Express Football Club and Nyasa Big Bullets shared points in a thrilling Cecafa Kagame Cup Group B encounter played on Wednesday at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

The Red Eagles took an early lead through Muzamir Mutyaba but a second-half goal from Chiukepo Msowoya handed the Malawian guests a deserved point in the end-to-end game.

While Malawian side Nyasa Big Bullets enjoyed more possession, Wasswa Bbosa’s Express created better scoring chances. Eric Kambale was the biggest culprit of wasting chances.

Kambale was set up by Ivan Mayanja and Godfrey Lwesibwa but the forward could not convert the opportunities.

“Well today’s game was tough but as a team we’re glad we managed a point. We definitely have a few corrections to make and we’re going back to do so, I also think we need to create more and score as many goals in our next game because we want to reach the semifinals,” John Byamukama said of the game.

The result means that Express remain on top of Group A with four points but will need to avoid defeat in their last group game against Young Africans on Saturday to advance to the semifinals.
