FUFA Women’s Super League side Kampala Queens FC has unveiled defender Patience Nabulobi.
Nabulobi joins the Queens of Soccer from Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women Football Club.
“Kampala Queens FC gladly announces the signing of defender Patience Nabulobi from Uganda Martyrs,” a statement partly read.
“Patience Nabulobi is a Queen. Welcome to the palace Queen Patience,” the statement added.
The defender has penned down a three-year employment contract with Kampala Queens that will keep her at the palace till 2026.
Nabulobi was so instrumental as her former side lifted FUFA Women’s Cup earlier this year. It was the second time she lifted it after winning it with She Makerere in 2019.
She will be the second player crossing from Lubaga to the palace joining Catherine Nagadya who did so earlier on.
The reigning league champions have already confirmed the acquisition of Shakirah Nyinagahirwa, Hadijah Nandago and Samalie Nakacwa on loan and Fazila Ikwaput on a permanent basis.
Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have announced Luiz Otavio Santos de Araujo aka Tinga as their latest addition.
Tinga becomes the second Brazilian at Kitende after the arrival of striker Giancarlo Rodriguez Lopez.
“We have swooped in another man from the land of Samba football,” the development was announced via the club’s website.
“The defensive midfielder is a former Brazilian U-20 International, who made six official caps for the Selecao at the level,” the statement added.
Tinga has put pen of paper on a two-year employment contract with Vipers SC.
He is a versatile player who can comfortably play as a holding midfielder as well as a right-back.
He is expected to fight for a slot in the middle park against Miguel Nzau Lutumba, Siraje Sentamu and Marvin Joseph Youngman.
Tinga becomes Vipers SC’s fourth signing after Giancarlo Lopez Rodriguez, Richard Matovu and David Bagoole.
BUL FC continues to do business and highly-rated forward Joel Madondo is the latest firing arm in their arsenal.
The forward reunited with gaffer Abbey Kikomeko with whom they did wonders at Busoga United (formerly known as Kirinya Jinja SS).
“BUL FC has completed the signing of Joel Madondo from Gaddafi FC,” the club confirmed.
“The forward has signed a one-year renewable contract with the Eastern Giants.”
Madondo joins the oil manufacturers after a short stint with their rivals across the city.
The goal poacher has struggled to regain his spark since that failed stint with Raja Casablanca in the Maghreb region.
The reunion with his former coach creates hope since Kikomeko has seen Madondo’s growth from school and can surely revamp his confidence.
Madondo becomes BUL’s third signing after the confirmation of striker Gerald Ogwet and goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa in the ongoing transfer window.
David Bagoole ‘Tong Po’ has been unveiled by Vipers SC and becomes their second signing in the ongoing transfer window.
The highly skilful midfielder joins the Kitende-based club on a two-year contract after switching from FUFA Big League side Jinja North United FC.
“The affable David Bagoole has finally completed his return to Vipers Sports Club,” the club confirmed via its official website.
“The immensely talented midfielder who is a fans’ favourite, has penned a two-year employment contract,” the post added.
The ‘prodigal son’ makes an emotional return to Vipers after leaving earlier than his contract read by then.
In August 2020, the midfielder penned a three-year contract but he only spent two years at St Mary’s Stadium before forcing his way out.
However, Bagoole revealed that he has learnt his lessons which clearly affirms the Vipers faithful that he has come to stay this time round.
“I have learnt my lessons. I will do everything I can to help the club achieve its goals,” he was quoted by Vipers website.
“I’m happy and excited to come back at Vipers SC,” he underlined.
The midfielder becomes Vipers’ second signing after Brazilian forward Giancarlo Rodriguez.
A brief about Bagoole
Goodbye is always a sad phrase to say but so inevitable in sports where athletes are always on the move to take up new beginnings.
Reports indicate that midfielder David Bagoole is on his way to Vipers SC after a short spell at Big League side, Jinja North United.
Bagoole took his mixed emotions on paper as he underlined that Jinja North United will always be his family.
“I start a new chapter but Jinja North will always be family,” Bagoole noted through a document posted on his social media handles.
“I say goodbye to you with a warm heart. It’s been an amazing six months at the club and I leave with great memories full of love and support from the whole team,” he added.
“To the fans, thank you for the unending support through thick and thin and I beseech you to keep rallying behind the team.”
In the document, Bagoole praised the club president for having belief in him hence giving him a chance to play in his team.
Bagoole is expected at Kitende today as he joins his teammates to kickstart the pre-season preparations ahead of a busy campaign.
As they wait on the return of the Uganda Premier League, the Venoms will be taking part in the CAF Champions League qualifiers that are set to get underway in August.
Uganda Premier League side BUL FC has confirmed their second signing of the primary transfer window Joel Mutakubwa.
The custodian switches from Gaddafi FC to join the oil manufacturers not moving out of Jinja City.
Mutakubwa put pen to paper committing his stay at BUL for the next two years.
“The 29-year-old goalkeeper, who lifted the CECAFA Kagame Cup with Express FC in 2021, has signed a two-year contract with BUL,” the club confirmed via its official website.
Mutakubwa is an experienced shot-stopper who has proven on the local scene after thrilling campaigns with Tooro United and the Red Eagles.
However, Mutakubwa’s transfer to BUL reunites him with gaffer Abbey Kikomeko with whom they were at Busoga United (previously known as Kirinya Jinja SS).
He has also previously played for Kyetume FC.
He was also part of the Uganda Cranes squad that was summoned for the Cranes at CHAN in Algeria.
Gerald Ogweti was the first signing of BUL. More new faces are expected to join BUL in the busy transfer window.
Experienced goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga and Uganda Premier League side SC Villa are soon finalising talks ahead of a transfer deal.
Reports indicate the talks were positive and the two sides will soon be agreeing to a two-year employment agreement.
Muwanga is set to meet with the club’s secretariat within the week and put a pen on paper after concluding his FUFA Drum duty.
His side Busoga will be taking on Karamoja at Naitakwae Playground, Moroto in the second log after registering a 4-1 victory earlier.
Muwanga is set to reunite with Isaac Mwesigwa who was CEO at Express a place they won and excelled.
While at Express, the custodian kept 13 clean sheets hence clinching the 2020/21 golden glove accolade.
The thrilling performance guided the Red Eagles’ to their seventh Uganda Premier League title in the club’s history.
In the same season, the team went on to lift the CECAFA Kagame Cup.
He spent three seasons at Wankulukuku managing 54 club appearances and 24 clean sheets across the adventurous journey.
Wakiso Giants FC’s anchor man Lawrence Bukenya was one of the best players of the recently concluded season.
His impressive ball sense and patroling traits have attracted a number of top sides within and outside the boundaries of the country.
Reports indicate the ‘Tax Collectors’ are leading the race and have made their interest formal as they continue to court the player’s signature.
URA FC is still hurt for a direct replacement of their former captain Shafick Kagimu who left the club midway through last season after falling out with the technical team.
Bukenya is gifted with the skill of passing the ball within different ranges, he has proven to be a smart ball-winner and is always ready to drive the team forward.
Last season he played only 23 games out of 28 match days but each time Wakiso Giants played without him it would be clear that their midfield puzzle was not complete.
He guided the Purple Sharks to the eighth position by the end of the campaign with 36 points.
For starters, he is among the nominees lined up for the accolade of the season’s best midfielder in the upcoming Uganda Premier League (UPL) awards.
A brief about Bukenya
Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC has confirmed the signing of Giancarlo Rodriguez.
The Brazilian forward is the first signing to join the Kitende-based side in the ongoing transfer window.
Rodriguez has put pen on paper committing his stay at St Mary’s Stadium for the next two years hence providing gaffer Alex Isabirye with more striking options.
It’s the first time Rodriguez will be playing in Africa since he has only played for clubs in South America and Asia.
The 33-year-old forward is a true journeyman who has transversed the globe playing the beautiful game.
According to Vipers SC’s official website, he started his career in the 2013 season playing for EC Victoria before he switched to Treza FC a year later.
The other teams he played for in Brazil are Sao Caetano, Santo Andre, Macae, Rio Branco AC, Ferroviario and Sousa.

He switched to Idonesia’s PSM Makassar in 2019 before he moved back home to play for Uniao Cacoalense-Ro.

KCCA FC’s new coach Sergio Traguil has promised to work closely with the club’s junior team.
While at Kati Kati Restaurant in his maiden meeting with the fourth estate, he promised to dedicate much of his time to the youth and nature talent as long as he stays at the MTN Omondi Stadium.
“I am going to work closely with the junior team and see how many of those I can build,” the Portuguese coach said.
“I have scheduled a meeting today and I will be talking to them after their game. I started my career with Benfica’s junior side so I have a special interest in young talents,” he added.
In the past, KCCA has been a nursery bed for huge talents which is not the case in recent days.
With the arrival of Traguil, the KCCA faithful should once again start believing that they will be seeing new talents sprout from their junior side.
Players like Allan Okello, Mustafa Kizza, Julius Poloto, Lawrence Bukenya, and Noel Nasasira to mention but a few have all passed through the academy at Lugogo.
The Lugogo-based side has made some good money from their youth side and if the project is given the right support then it will yield more into the club’s coffers.
“When we implement our style and belief right from the grassroots then it provides quality players for tomorrow. I will continue to talk to my fellow coaches to see that our target with the junior team is achieved.”
KCCA’s Junior Team is coached by Ssaka Mpima.
