Muhammad Shaban scored twice as KCCA secured a well-deserved 4-0 victory against Mbarara City in the Uganda Premier League at MTN Onondaga Stadium, Lugogo on Thursday.

Shaban now tops the scoring sheet with 14 goals in 23 games played thus far in the ongoing campaign.

Anthony Emojong made a world-class save to deny Akandwanaho’s powerful strike in the fourth minute.

Haruna Lukwago came close in the 10th minute but his strike went wide of the target by inches.

Ashraf Mugume broke the deadlock with a thrilling effort from a free kick that went past a wall before finding the back of the net in the 15th minute.

In the 22nd minute, Arafat Usama’s strike bounced off the woodwork as the hosts kept seeking for more goals.

Seven minutes later, Etienne Katenga was fouled in the dangerous area by Innocent Wafula and the hosts were awarded a penalty.

Muhammad Shaban stepped up and converted from the spot extending his season tally to 13 goals.

Shaban stretched KCCA’s lead to three after sealing a personal double in the 49th minute.

The in-form forward Katenga joined the party as he converted from close range in the 54th minute after being set up by Usama.

The victory sends KCCA to the sixth position with 38 points while Mbarara City lie 11th with 10 points less.
