Lady Doves kicked out Uganda Martyrs 3-2 in a penalty shootout in the FUFA Women's Cup at Katusabe playground in Masindi on Wednesday.
In regular time the two sides shared spoils in a one-all draw before dragging the game into a heated shootout.
Lady Doves continued to take positive strides as they eliminated the defending champions Uganda Martyrs after beating log leaders Kawempe Muslim in the league.
Resty Kobusobozi gave Lady Doves the lead to place the home side in the driving seat.
Uganda Martyrs levelled matters through Ruth Nyakato in the 73rd minute.
In the shootout, Lady Doves converted three penalties while Kobusobozi and Norah Alupo failed to convert from the spot.
For Uganda Martyrs, Brenda Munyana, Gloria Namugerwa and Latifah Nakasi failed to convert from the 12-yard mark.
Lady Doves will now face UCU Lady Cardinals in the quarterfinals.
The other quarterfinalists are Lady Doves, UCU Lady Cardinals, Kampala Queens, Kawempe Muslim/Byafaayo Queens, Rines SS WFC, She Corporate FC, Wakiso Hill WFC and Asubo Ladies FC.
