Maroons Football Club registered a well-deserved 3-0 victory against Busoga United in the Uganda Premier League at Prison Grounds, Luzira on Thursday.

Fred Amaku (brace) and Abraham Tusubira were on target as Maroons claimed maximum points on the day.

At full-time, Busoga United were nine after Charles Mulanda and Hussein Ssajjabi were given marching orders on the day.

Amaku fired the home side ahead in the 27th minute after a well-coordinated switch play with Ronald Orombi.

Six minutes later, Amaku doubled the hosts' lead with a thrilling finish thanks to Fred Kigozi's precise delivery.

Before the end of the first stanza, scorer Amaku set up Tusubira who scored Maroons' third goal on the day.

Two minutes into the second stanza, Mulanda was sent off as Busoga United was left with only 10 men to play.

Two minutes later, Sajjabi followed his captain after a harsh challenge on Maroons defender Darius Ojok.

The victory lifts Maroons to the sixth position with 38 points while Busoga United are 14th with 18 points after 23 games.
