Amus College registered a 2-0 well-deserved victory against Mbale Progressive in the 2023 USSSA Games on Tuesday morning at Nyakasura Playground. Richard Malinga’s troops looked lethal and their urge paid off with a maximum of three points to take a slot in the last 16 of the ongoing tournament. Abdul Razak Kibenda found the back of the net to place the Bukedea-based side in the driving seat. Japha Toto doubled the tally to widen the lead before the two sides walked off the field of play for the long break. After recess, Mbale Progressive returned a better side and threw bodies upfront in search of a consolation but Amus’ backline was up to the task. The victory took Amus to 15 points hence sealing the second position of Group E two points behind Buddo SS which took the summit with 17 points.April 24, 2024 | Football
